You make the plan. Your child takes the next step.

RudiKids — everyday routines with support from you and a little fox.

You choose the steps and settings, then show your child how to use the plan. Rudi uses pictures and a voice to remind them what comes next: socks, teeth or breakfast. Your child does the activity away from the screen and taps the “Done!” paw. You stay nearby to explain and help where needed.

Explore the ideas step by step

Your child knows what comes next. You have a plan to come back to.

You don’t have to explain the whole morning every time. One clear step, a small confirmation, then the next activity — at your family’s pace.

What is RudiKids?

RudiKids is an app for family routines that you set up as a parent. Your child can see the next activity, mark it as done, and visit the sticker album and the fox's room. It is a tool for everyday preparations, not a game intended to keep your child on a phone all day.

Morning

From bed to the front door: pants, socks, teeth, breakfast, and finally shoes and coat. The sun in the sky shows how much time is left — no numbers needed.

After school

Unpack the school bag, wash hands, have a meal, tidy up toys — and homework for older children. Then it's time to visit the fox's room.

Bedtime

Dinner, bath, pyjamas, teeth and clothes ready for tomorrow. The fox falls asleep with your child and the screen goes dark — stories happen without a screen.

Plus plans of your own: swimming, tidy-up time, clubs or a visit to Grandma — step by step, just like in the morning. For an unplanned outing, start a one-off ⚡ quick task from the home screen, through the parent gate, and for waiting, the ⏳ fox timer with a sun instead of numbers.

For your child: I can do the next step

  • One picture at a time and the fox's voice: “And now… socks!”. No reading needed.
  • A big “Done!” paw — your child taps it on their own, and the phone gives a little buzz.
  • A fox of their own age who gets dressed alongside them: from pyjamas to clothes, and a hat and scarf in winter.
  • The sun moving across the sky towards the door instead of a clock.
  • Sparks, a sticker for every day and an album — and in the afternoon, the fox's room with presents.

During a routine, use the phone for a brief check of the next step and to mark it done. The rest happens away from the screen: getting dressed, brushing teeth or putting a school bag away. The album and the fox's room are extras — agree on when to visit them. The app does not replace your family's rules for phone use.

For you: fewer steps to keep in your head

  • A ready-made morning plan — the same for every age to begin with. You can change the steps, their order, the days of the week and each child's times later in the grown-ups' area.
  • A grown-ups' area behind a grown-up question or your own PIN — so settings don't change by accident.
  • Grown-up decisions: skipping a step, pausing, “Time to go!” and the family agreement. The fox never punishes.
  • Progress for each child separately — no rankings and no comparing siblings.
  • An alarm, night mode with “Dawn” and reminders — only if you want them.
  • Privacy: family data stays on your phone. No RudiKids accounts, ads or our own analytics. Read about data handled by Google Play in our privacy policy.

Show them first. Then adjust your help.

See the real app before setting it up for your family. The video takes you from first launch to a ready plan and the first spark — with demo details, at a calm pace.

2.5 minutes. Captions, no sound.

  1. Make a short plan with activities your child knows, and put what they need within reach.
  2. Try it together. Show what each picture means and when to tap “Done!”. A picture of clothes cannot teach buttoning on its own.
  3. When your child understands the plan and can do the activities, you can suggest trying with less help. Stay nearby and available if they get stuck.

An older child may need fewer reminders, but skills and circumstances matter more than age alone. If a step is difficult, do it together again.

Siblings on one screen

With siblings the phone turns sideways and each child gets their own column and their own “Done!” paw. Nobody races anybody: the foxes leave together once the whole team is ready.

Tablet in landscape: the fox's house at the top and three columns below — Amy brushing teeth, Harry putting on underpants, Alfie taking off his pyjamas.

Who it's for

Children aged 3–12

Pictures and voice instead of text. The screen and the fox adapt to age: a little one sees one picture without numbers, an older child also a spark counter. Every child sees what comes next in the row of small icons. Children aged 9–12 can organise school preparation, household chores and personal goals with a grown-up.

For your family’s daily rhythm

Every child has their own plan, pace and times — even different ones on chosen days, such as staying home on Saturdays. When one child starts later today, the others begin straight away and they join in when they're ready.

Grown-ups nearby

RudiKids doesn't replace a parent. It helps while an adult is around: it takes over some of the reminding and leaves the important decisions to you.

What it's based on

We look at research on routines, picture schedules and adult support, alongside guidance on digital media. It provides context for showing children how a plan works and adjusting the help they need. It does not establish RudiKids' effectiveness — the app has not undergone its own effectiveness studies.

How it works · See the sources and their limitations

Honestly

RudiKids is not a therapy or a clinical study. We use principles described in research, but the app itself has not been scientifically tested for effectiveness. We don't promise a “21-day habit”.

It started with mornings in our own family

RudiKids was made for our family. We wanted to help our children through everyday preparations without reminding them of every activity ourselves.

In our experience, it worked: our children are more willing to get ready for school. When friends saw the app, they wanted to try it too — and a family idea began to grow beyond our home.

Research into child development, motivation and habits helped us shape the mechanisms behind the app. This is our family’s experience, not a promise of the same result in every home. That’s why you can take 30 days to try RudiKids with your own family.
